EVENTS: Next Big Nashville 2008, Wed – Sunday

“Next BIG Nashville is an annual event spotlighting the numerous ways that Nashville connects to, and interacts with, the international music community from the creative to the commercial. What began as a simple showcase for Nashville’s booming non-country scene in 2006, has quickly grown into a music festival and conference that not only gives a deserving spotlight to the area’s rock, pop, hip-hop, indie and roots artists but also brings together many of the more exciting elements of Nashville’s dynamic and diverse music business community.

Last year, over 9,000 fans witnessed 147 artists over 5 days in 12 Venues. NBN 2008 promises another quantum leap forward. NBN 2008 will feature more daytime conference activities, more parties, more bands, more venues and more interactivity.” (

I am so excited about this event because I like music just as much as I love fashion. Living in Nashville has allowed me to expand my tastes when it comes to music. Not only do I have an appreciation for hip-hop, gospel, and r&b, but now rock and a lil‘ bit of country are in my Ipod as well. In addition, seeing live shows makes you appreciate the process that goes into making an artist. On the fashion front, you are bound to see some inventive and creative clothing gestures at a live show. Next Big Nashville will be the place to see and be seen. Expand your musical interests and check out a show at the Next Big Nashville music conference.

Go to the official website for ticket information and after-party listings. Most shows are $10.00 but a $35.00 wristband can get you into all the shows and the after parties, not to mention the clout you can get when you buy a VIP pass. I’ll be there, I hope to see you too!
