EVENTS: FREE Events all weekend

There are tons of free events going on this weekend. Take advantage of everything Nashville has to offer. Choose an event and bring your family and friends to enjoy the wonderful weather and interesting sights you will see in Nashville. Join 92Q for the 5th Annual Family Day in the Park. Saturday October 4th – 11am to 4pm at Shelby Park. It’s the Annual Come Together Day complete with free hot dogs, drinks, and more – served starting at 12 Noon (while supplies last). They’ll have a Food Zone, Live Entertainment, a Spades Tournament, and more. It’s the 5th Annual Family Day in the Park. The Celebration of Cultures is 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park. This is Scarritt-Bennett Center and Metro Parks’ annual multicultural festival with music, dance, activities for children, food vendors and “the Villages,” which offer an authentic glimpse of daily life in more than 12 countries. There will be free shuttles between Centennial Park and the Free Day of Music at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. 615-340-8804 or www.celebrationofcultures.org

Regions Free Day of Music at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. This event, which runs from 11:15 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, is truly full of music. Performers include the Belmont Bluegrass Band, the Nashville Children’s Choir, the Nashville Philharmonic, Music City Swing, the MTSU Jazz Band, the TSU Vocal Showcase and, of course, the Nashville Symphony itself at 8:15 p.m. There will be free shuttles between the Symphony Center and Centennial Park, where the Celebration of Cultures will be going on at the same time.
