Michelle Obama to Grace Vogue March 2009

Hey Fab Friends!

I’m so excited to read that Michelle will be in the March edition of Vogue magazine. I’m gonna make sure to get this, because I know it will sell out fast. We already know Michelle has grace, style, and poise, so this issue and article will be a great read. Plus, Vogue had been under scrutiny to have more diverse covergirls, so this is a step in the right direction. Make sure to get yours.

Here is the full story from Women’s Wear Daily:

Vogue’s March issue featuring First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover will be revealed Wednesday. Annie Liebovitz photographed Obama at the Hay-Adams Hotel during the presidential inauguration.

The First Lady appears in a vibrant pink Jason Wu sheath for her cover turn. Obama also chose a long white Jason Wu gown for her evening wear to attend the inaugural balls on Jan. 20.
“It’s a wonderful achievement for Vogue,” said editor at large Andre Leon Talley, who interviewed Obama for an hour at the Hay-Adams hotel a few weeks before the inauguration.
Obama’s cover portrait, said Talley “absolutely reflects who she is without any questions. There’s such a warmth that she emanates. It’s the warmest cover you’ve seen in a long time on Vogue. Models pose, actresses pose. This is a real woman.”

For the shoot, the First Lady chose looks from her own wardrobe, including a black Narciso Rodriguez dress and a J. Crew cardigan, top and skirt ensemble.

Photos of her with President Barack Obama from inauguration ceremonies are also featured.
Talley also interviewed Jill Biden, wife of vice president Joe Biden, and Valerie Jarrett, a longtime adviser to President Obama. He also reflected on his own encounters with the First Lady at Oprah Winfrey’s home and at a fundraiser he hosted with Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
