Celebeauty: 2009 Oscar Awards

(clockwise: Alicia Keys, Anne Hathaway, Marisa Tomei,

Good Morning Fashion Friends!

Well I’m sure you watched or glanced at the Oscar Awards last night. Although we love to see our favorite Actors receive honors, most Fashionable Phenoms are looking at the red carpet to see who looked amazing or how made a mistake. Well, I didn’t get a chance to watch the red carpet live, I was at my friend and NASHVILLE PARTY PLANNER, Auntie Jelly’s 30th Birthday Party, but I do have my top Oohs and Oh-no’s from the awards last night. Take a look:

BEST DRESSED – Taraji P. Henson
Dress by Roberto Cavalli
Jewelry by Fred Leighton

Honorable Mentions
Frieda Pinto (John Galliano), Kate Winslet (Yves Saint Laurent), Natalie Portman (Rodarte)

These Ladies looked good, but not great. I’m gonna go on record to say we need to retire the one-shoulder look. I give Frieda Pinto and Natalie Portman a thumbs-up for adding some color to the night.

When Bad Dresses Happen To Good People

Beyonce (House of Dereon), Heidi Klum, Jessica Beil, Miley Cyrus (Zuhad Murad)

I wanted to like Beyonces look, but I just can’t. The simple ponytail, the too-tight House of Dereon dress, the invisible make-up, are all evidence that Beyonce has to try harder.

Heidi Klum has too much pull in the fashion world to come down the red-carpet looking like this. The dress is interesting but makes her look sloppy and not put together; that is not a good look for such a beautiful woman

Jessica Biel’s dress looks like napkin is stuffed into a belt, however her accessories are on-point.

Lastly, Nashville girl Miley Cyrus’ dress is too old for her and over-powers her tiny frame. I would have like to see her in something that fit closer to her body and had a bit more color.
