Internet fashion folks are buzzing about TARGET and Alexander McQueen’s collection. Target has really created a niche when they decided to start pairing their fashionably low prices with high-end designers. The last pairing with Thakoon was a great success, bringing attention to the fact that high-fashion designs can do well in middle America. With recession woes hanging over our heads, it very nice to walk into to Target and come out with a runway worthy ensemble.
McQueen’s signature looks include billowy dresses cut in hourglass silhouettes, frock coats paired with skinny pants, sharp, angular suiting, and darkly romantic gowns covered in intricate embroidery and lace. In addition to his TARGET collaboration, he has had creative partnerships with PUMA, MAC, and Samsonite.
McQueen is also known for his lavish, unconventional runway shows, such as a recreation of a shipwreck for his spring 2003 collection, spring 2005’s human chess game and his fall 2006 show, Widows of Culloden, which featured a life-sized hologram of supermodel Kate Moss, dressed in yards of rippling fabric.
McQueen’s line is only offered at 250 Target stores, and Nashville’s White Bridge Road and Cool Springs locations are in that number. LUCKY US!!
