Nashville Film Festival – April 16-23, 2009

A total of 258 movies from 48 countries will be shown at the Nashville Film Festival to broaden attendees’ horizons, a festival official says. The Nashville Film Festival is a wonderful event. The event’s popularity continues to increase as the offerings are more artistic, interesting, and thought provoking.

Festival Director Sallie Mayne said the 40th annual festival was created with the intent to both educate and entertain guests while also creating partnerships among groups and individuals in attendance, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Sunday. (source)

Rites of Spring Music Festival – Vanderbilt University
April 17-18, 2009

When it comes to putting on a show, Vanderbilt University strictly adheres to a “go big or go home” policy. Never one to disappoint music lovers, The Music Group at Vanderbilt is thrilled to announce the award-winning rap artist, T.I., in one of his last shows for more than a year. T.I. joins a stellar line-up for this year’s 2009 Rites of Spring Music Festival including the psychedelic alternative rockers The Flaming Lips, the popular funk group N.E.R.D. , rapper Q-Tip and avantgarde artist and critical darling Santigold. A Vanderbilt University tradition for more than 30 years, the annual outdoor 2009 Rites of Spring Music Festival will take place on Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th. (source)
