Music Review: Mariah Carey, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel

I’m gonna have to go on record to say that this is one of Mariah’s best albums. Why? Her voice is strong, the lyrics are interesting and entertaining, and Mariah has proven that she can stand her ground in an ever changing Pop R&B landscape.

Rumors noted that she pushed her album back because Whitney Houston moved her album up – if it’s true, that was a good deal. Not because Whitney’s was better, but the ladies offer something different to their similar audiences. Mariah is more hip-hop influenced while Whitney is more inspirational. Mariah wakes you up in the morning, and Whitney lays you down at night – so their both a good deal.

So, don’t be put off by the annoying ‘Obsessed’ but be ready for doo-wop drops and lazy slow jams of Mariah’s Imperfect Angel.

Best Tracks:
