Stellar Award Events 2010

Whew! It’s a busy week in Nashville. The Stellar Awards have taken over the city and there are plenty events happening all over. Gospel fans this is a perfect opportunity for you to meet some of you favorite artists. The Fab Girls will be all over the place, so we hope to see you there. Let’s get started on all the festivities.

On Wednesday, join Rejoice 880am as they host the official Welcome Celebration for the Stellar Awards on January 13, 2010, 7:30 p.m., at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2200 26th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208. The Welcome Celebration will give Nashville a chance to extend an official welcome to “Music City” to the nominees, hosts, attendees, staff, sponsors and supporters of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards. The celebration will feature special appearances by award show participants including musical guests Ben Tankard, Antonio Neal and Karima Kibble. Starting Thursday, Urban Soul Cafe will host their Access Granted weekend. More than 20 leading Urban Gospel performers will grace the Limelight Music Venue and Dave & Buster’s Sport Café for a high-energy two-day event during this upcoming Stellar Awards Weekend. The events are being hosted by Lexi (Word Network), “The Belle” (The Belle Report), DeWayne Woods, and Canton Jones. Event founder Carlos Hale is presenting an unforgettable lineup with J.Moss, 21:03, Myron Butler, Sean Simmonds, Viktory, Y’Anna Crawley (BET’s Sunday’s Best Winner), Melinda Watts (Gospel Dream’s Winner), Lisa McClendon, and MANY MORE. Performances are spread out between January 14th at the Limelight Music Venue ( and as the Stellar Awards show after party on January 16th at Dave & Buster’s Sport Café (Opry Mills Mall). Kingdom Swag, Urban Soul Cafe, and Preacher Kid Productions will host the Mid-Day Mixer. From 11a – 2p enjoy a meet + greet, fashion show, comedy presentation, and live performances. This event is FREE and will be hosted comedian and actor Jonathan Slocumb. Make sure to come out to Pear Bistro, 204 Commerce Street, Nashville, TN, to enjoy the fun.

Another Saturday event, hosted by the Bellamy Group, is Notes on the Red: Fusing Fashion and Faith. This is a free event and will feature a fashion show and panel discussion. More gospel artists will be in attendance, including newcomer and gospel favorite Mali Music. This event will be at Opry Mills on the entertainment stage (near Barnes & Noble bookstore).

On Saturday night is the official Stellar Awards presentation hosted by Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, and Vicki Winans. This is a ticketed event and will be taped live at The Grand Ol Opry House. The red carpet begins at 4pm, and the show will be taped afterward. Get your tickets here.
