Welp, I woke up to this little gem of information this morning – Macy’s is closing it’s doors in the Hickory Hollow Mall after 32 years of service. The Cincinnati based retailer is closing eleven stores, nationwide, one being in Nashville.
In conjunction with the close, the store will hold a 10-week discount sale starting this weekend (1/6/2012). Although this is prime shopping for a discount diva like myself, I hate to see another department store leave this struggling mall. As I reported yesterday, the Sears department store is closing too. I fear this mall, now filled with small one-stop businesses, will be gone by 2013. So sad.
ok that mall is literally through. The main anchors are closing shop. Soon it will be looking like Harding Mall and after that, look out office space. Sad to see it go,i never went to that mall much, I live about 7 mins from Rivergate and 12 from Opry mills can't wait for that to be back open. Is it crime increase to the area or what? I need to read up and see whats going on.
