So, New York Fashion week is going swimmingly (for what I can gather through pictures, posts, and tweets). I’ve been paying attention to fashion shows for the last four years. Fall is always my favorite season. However, these spring 2013 creations are putting a pep in my step for spring. the trends I spot for spring 2013 are: Sheer embellishments, digital prints, lightweight leather, and lace (so much lace).
Below, I’ve identified some designers who really caught my eye. I’ll try and post more as the week continues.
Herve Leger, Spring 2013
If you were used to the old Herve Leger designs (body-con elastic panel dresses) the designer turned the tables and brought us these GORGEOUS lace embellished creations. Seriously, the ivory, white, cream, and black color pallette, created a heavenly and sophisticated offering for the growing Herve Leger consumer.
Jason Wu, Spring 2013
Jason Wu, continued the edgy lace trend but focused on black, lightweight leather, and laser cut lace. Can I tell you how in love I am with that lace and leather skirt in the middle panel? Oh yeah, those sheer gloves, I don’t know how they’d fare in the real world, but I want them, I really do. The way he added the sheer embellishments, like on the blouse, is just so fab and ladylike.
Christian Siriano, Spring 2013
Christian Siriano hasn’t dissapointed me since he was on Project Runway. He’s grown so much and his designs reflect that fact. He offered the runway these lucsious pastel and satin designs with metallic acessories. The adorable shoes will ALL be available at Payless in the spring. Way to build the brand!
Monique Lhuillier, Spring 2013
Monique Lhuiller is known for her grogeous gowns, but I chose to focus on these fabulous separates and chic dresses she’s designing for Spring 2013. Get into the digital print pantsuit on the left and the lightweight leather dress on the end. Clearly, Kanye and Kim were on to something when they rocked their leather in the summer look. If leather is is done like this, I’m for it!
