|Model, Malaika Firth|
The fashion world was turned on it’s toes when luxury designer, Prada, announced Malaika Firth as one of the new print models for their fall campaign. This is the first woman of color the company has used for print since Naomi Campbell in 1998 – YES 1998! Prada recently had Jourdan Dunn walk for the 2008 runway show, but she was the only woman of color in the entire show. So, yes, this is something to cheer about.
Malaika was born in Kenya and raised in London. She’s modeled for Burberry and ASOS in addition to various small print campaigns. From my research she seems quite lovely and truly worthy of such a great position. I know this campaign will bring her much success!
