MUSIC MONDAY: It’s all about TLC – CrazySexyCool!

TLC by Hayden Williams

Hey Kids, the 90’s are back with a vengeance! From the fashion (crop tops, overall/jumpers, platform combat boots) to music (Ariana Grande sounds JUST like 90’s Mariah Carey), the 90’s influences are all over the place this year. So it only seems fitting to start the week off with a nod to the 90’s hottest girls group, TLC.

Left Eye, Chili, and T-Boz

Hands down, TLC was one of my favorite groups of the 90’s. When their first project dropped, Oooooh on the TLC Tip, you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t apart of the group. This gave me the supreme chance to wear my clothes extra baggy and EXTRA colorful, my combat boots accompanied with three pairs of slouch socks, and yes, I even attached condoms to my clothes to show I was down with the Safe Sex vibe,

Drew Sidora (T-Boz), Keke Palmer (Chilli),  and Lil Mama (Left Eye)

These ladies made feminism cool and being a tom-boy even cooler! Of course the group was wrecked with ups and downs – all of which are documented in the new VH1 docu-drama, CrazySexyCool. The movie is written by the group’s surviving members and stars Keke Palmer (Chilli), Lil Mama (Left Eye), and Drew Sidora (T-Boz) will premiere Monday, October 21.

So, let’s get into the video for Music Monday, it was hard for me to choose what TLC video I wanted to feature, but I think my all-time favorite TLC song/video has got to be “Creep”! Stylistically the video is very fly. The ladies rock satin pajamas, gorgeous make-up and sexified tomboy looks. Plus, the song is ultra smooth. Sit back and enjoy this throwback.

Oh yeah, check out TLC’s new song, “Meant to Be”.
