The most epic photo of Lupita N’yongo

I can say, that I truly enjoyed the Academy Awards on Sunday night. I usually watch the red carpet, then skip the awards. But this time, because watching anything with twitter is 100% better, I watched the awards. Like everyone else said, Ellen was the BEST host ever! She made the show move along smoothly and her joke were funny. Plus, there were a ton of great movies nominated this year, so it was fun to guess who’d win.

Of course, it’s always about the clothes. If you follow me on twitter, @FabGlanceBlog, I live-tweeted the red carpet arrivals. But I thought I’d compile my favorites here – plus a couple of after-party looks. Enjoy!

Charlize, Lupita, and Sandra

The ladies above took the spots for TOP # best dressed: Charlize Theron in Dior, Lupita N’yongo in Prada, and Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen. Each look was lovely on the ladies and quite age appropriate. I really fell in love with Charlize’s black look – it was breath-taking! The silhouette was feminine and vampy.

Second runners up: Jennifer, Idina, and Amy

My second favorite set of looks came from Jennifer Lawrence dressed in this red Dior peplum look, Idina Menzel in Vera Wang, and Amy Adams wearing Gucci. I especially love Amy’s look considering she styled her self the ENTIRE awards season. It’s always nice to see a celeb let their true style show.

Here’s a couple other contenders I noticed. Some rocked the red carpet and others hit the after party. Check it:

I especially enjoyed Pink’s performance of “Somewhere over the Rainbow”. She wore this gorgeous ruby red dress as she channeled the elegance of Judy Garlend’s Wizard of Oz shoes. Super elegant, extra classy, and especially sparkly – she looked good!

Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camilla get my vote for BEST DRESSED couple. Although I hated the tailoring of Matthew’s pants, but Camilla’s custom Gabriela Cadena gown made up for it. In a People Magazine article, Camilla said she never want to outshine the actors who are nominted, she just wants to look nice. I like her.

Lastly, Britney Spears went to Elton John’s Aids Foundation Oscar party looking like new money! Her new auburn hair is the best decision she’s made in a long time. I guess that Las Vegas money is treating her right! But for real, I love this who look on Britney. She looks healthy, happy, and calm. Good deal!
