FASHION FRIDAY: Elie Saab – Pre-Fall 2015

Lupita Nyong’o slayed the red carpet in this Elie Saab dress

Today, on Fashion Friday we are discussing Elie Saab’s Pre-Fall 2015 line. I know, as soon as you realize that Spring lines come out in the Fall, and Fall lines come out in the Spring, we get new terminologies like Pre-Fall, Resort, etc. Pre-Fall lines, like Ready-to-Wear, are lines created, at the designer’s descretion that come factory finished and ready to ship to retailers. Every designer doesn’t do a pre-fall line and if they do, they don’t have to do a line ever year. Got it? Good.

Let’s get into the gorgeousness of this Elie Saab collection. The designer released this collection right in time for the holidays, winter, and awards season. And that’s what a pre-fall line is made for, to bridge the gap between seasons.

For this particular line, Elie Saab concentrated on cocktail dresses, evening gowns, and night wear. Each piece has a companion look that give the the buyer better option. The standout to this collection is the gorgeous applique details and other design details. You’ll see large-scale graphic print, lace (so IN for Fall 2015), intricate pleating, and the creative use of fur.

In addition, I’m in love with this COLOR SCHEME! Saab goes from black to red to pale pink in just 39 looks. Those colors seem like they wouldn’t work together, but seen on the runway it makes a cohesive presentation. It’s easy to get lost in a collection like this because I can see each piece on a red carpet, gala, or drinks after work. I also love the ACCESSORIES! It’s like, if you can’t afford a dress, the purses and clutches totally embody the flavor of this line. Grogeous!

Take a look at my fave pieces from the collection. Which would you rock? See the entire line on
