#FabHistoryMonth: Cam Newton, Athlete

I’m not gonna front and act like I’m the worlds biggest football fan. I’m not. I cheer for my home team (The Patriots) but never watch any games. I never know who’s in the Super Bowl until like, the week before the Super Bowl. I usually know players by seeing them in GQ or Esquire. So, I knew Cam Newton’s style before I knew about his game stats

But, I had to choose Cam for today #FabHistoryMonth spotlight because he’s so stylish and so BLACK! He’s proud of what he does and has good reason to be. At 6’5″ and 245lbs, this man has a body that can only be seen as god-like. His proportions are perfection so clothes are one of the keys to his success.

Cam was even the FIRST black athlete to design a men’s clothing label for Belk. There’s a lot to be said about America’s southern retailer taking a gamble in men’s fashion with a sometimes controversial black athlete. I’m here for it.
Below are some stats on Cam Newton!

  • Newton led Auburn to the 2010 BCS national championship, he also won a national title the year before.
  • In 2009, he helped Blinn College (Tex.) win the NJCAA national championship.
  • Cam was the second player in NCAA history to run for 20 touchdowns and pass for 20 in the same season. Tim Tebow was the first.
  • Cam was the first player with 4,000 passing yards and Newton has made three Pro Bowl appearances in his first five NFL seasons

So do you think the Panthers will when the Super Bowl? Let me know in the comments section. Also, who is your fave athlete with AWESOME STYLE?
