I’m loving using my new YouTube channel to share different sides of myself. Also, I’d like to thank you for your comments on my videos. Today’s video is my new CHAT feature. Sometimes, I just want to talk to you, and using the written word is not enough. Let me know if you like it.
Today’s topic is relationships! Specifically, people attempting to get out of their their relationship … specifically your boyfriend being all up in my DMs and your mom’s DMs, and my friend’s DMs! I’m just tired of guys trying to create side situations with nice single girls. So, let’s talk about it!
So many times, people ask me, “Are you dating?” and the answer is YES, but with some frustration. I know there are great guys out there, but the corny guys are making it REAL bad for y’all. Seriously, I’m not here to be a side-chick. I want a fun, healthy, and amazing relationship with a great guy who doesn’t sneak away, sending janky texts to other women. And, you should want that too. You don’t need a guy treating you like you’re LESS THAN! Girl, you are the full package!
Take a look at my video and tell me what you think? Have you been cheated on? How did it feel? Have you cheated? Let’s talk about!
Last week, I was invited by California Closets Nashville as a VIP Guest to the Nashville Parade of Homes! The Parade of Homes is an annual event that allows guests to see the latest home design trends created by the regions best builders and interior designers. California Closets created a $45,000 closet for one of the homes, and were the first to view the creation. Y’all! These homes were more than amazing. They were dream-worthy.
The tour definitely gave me some GOALS to think about. I want to build a home so that I can host my friends and family. The Nashville Parade of Homes introduced me to interior design trends I hadn’t seen before: Bunk rooms, Digital Spaces, and Embroidered Walls! Can someone just give me one of these houses, fully furnished? No? I gotta work for it? UGH!
A couple week’s ago I attended an inspiring event at Lipscomb University. Actress, Tisha Campbell, was invited to the university to speak on her career. Many know her as Gina, from the TV show Martin, but Tisha Campbell has a long and historic career in Hollywood. She’s been in the entertainment industry for more than 40 years, winning her first talent competition at the age of seven.
The entertainment media studies department, headed by Professor Natasha Johnson, completes a class assignment that involves planning and producing a community event that invites a celebrity to the city. The students did an amazing job, even when the guest list moved to more than 200 attendees. It was so exciting to visit the campus and listen to Tisha talk about her career, motivations, and inspiration. Of course I had to vlog it! I even give you a glimpse into my life with some fun commentary:
Um, Hello October! How’d you sneak up on me? I’m happy to report that it was actually CHILLY last night. Oh yes! Fall weather is on the way to Tennessee. With the return of cool weather, that means less time out in the streets and fashion events start to die down as the holiday season gears up. This change allows me more time to focus on quality content.
It’s back to blog basics over here! I’m proud that I was able to put out FOUR videos on the VLOG this month, with MORE to come. I’ve posted three times a week on the website. And, I’ve successfully given y’all weekly newsletters! Listen, don’t even discount my posts on INSTAGRAM; I’ve been giving you LOOKS! So, expect more quality coming from FabGlance! I’ve finally found my grove and I’m not turning back.
So, what can you expect this month>
HBCU Homecoming Events – So, it’s my school’s Homecoming month and the start of college homecoming events across the US. You know I got a homecoming lookbook coming for you! Check out last year’s looks!
COLLABORATIONS – I have a collaboration coming up with FORM Beauty, Private Label Extensions, and some secret ones I can’t tell you about yet! Just make sure to read the blog to see what’s popping! 100 Days of Fitness – Yeah, I talked about it last month. Even made it to 14 days. Then, I had oral surgery, a bit of financial distress, and just overall stress, so I stopped. BUT you can always dust yourself off and try again! Let’s do it!
The 35th Annual African Street Festival, created by the African American Cultural Alliance, celebrates all things from the diaspora. From amazing performances to international vendors, the weekend event brings out the best in black Nashville and allows us to feel one with out African heritage. I love showing you sides of Nashville that don’t include country music. Truthfully, Nashville is becoming quite the cultural melting pot as we have more than 100 new residents arriving to the city everyday! Check out this amazing event, held in Hadley Park, right at the foot of Historic Jefferson Street.
My sister and I decided to go to the festival on the last night. Truthfully, it’s the best night to get awesome deals from the vendors. Also, Sunday night is a great night to see the crowning performances. This year, we had the pleasure of seeing the Sankofa Drum & Dance Company. The legendary troupe gave the audience an amazing 45 minute performance that boasted complex drum routines, exciting dance performances, and inspirational crowd participation.
Of course I had to give you some VLOG coverage. During my visit I scored a pair of cool sunglasses and my annual container of PREMIUM Shea butter! I’m so mad I wasn’t able to get my favorite Jamaican meat & three, but I was so happy I supported this important event. Like I said, Nashville is more than country music and cowboy boots. There are tons of cultural events that discuss the various parts of the world. Now that these world residents are living in our city, we must make sure to celebrate our differences.
Have you attended the African Street Festival in Nashville? What is your favorite part of the fest? Let me know in the comments section!
I almost forgot to post last week’s VLOG! My goal is to give you a new video every week. I love sharing parts of my life with you and living in Nashville as well. You know, because Nashville is POPPING right now. Anyway, this week’s VLOG documents me going to the Urban Soul CafeAll-White Worship Experience and attending the Jefferson Street Art Crawl.
Dude! Month NINE! September already! Wow! The older we get, the faster it goes. I went HARD this summer with #ShowYourArms and #NashvilleCurves, so it’s time for me to go underground; we got some projects for the holidays!
Y’all already know that I am READY to rock-steady with fall 2017, I already started my Pinterest board. So, what’s happening on FabGlance this month? Well, it’s gonna be a chill month, no lie. I have to appear at some events coming up – so you’ll get lots of VLOGS! Better be following me on YouTube. Of course, there’s a couple brand collabs coming this month because I love telling you guys about new stuff.
Last week I was invited to cover the Red Carpet for the 2017 Black Music Honors! Listen, I’m not gonna front, your girl was kinda hype! I’ve met a couple of celebrities in my life, the best of which was Whitney Houston (maybe I’ll do a YouTube video about that), so it’s hard for me to get too hype about talented people. But, the Black Music Honors, is an amazing new program that celebrates the achievements of black people in black music. When we get the chance to honor each other on a large stage, we should really be happy about it.
That’s why I dusted off my camera skills and hopped on that red carpet. Back in the old days of FabGlance (when I was Fab Glance Nashville) I covered way more celebrity stories, events, and red carpets. Don’t let the smooth taste fool you, I love me some celebrity gossip but there’s more than enough outlets that cover gossip. But, when I have the chance to cover celebs doing amazing things (and I can be there in person), I gotta be on that carpet!
Hola Fab Family! Sorry for the lack of posts. I had a family emergency I had to deal with. Family comes before posts. After the family was secure I thought I’d give you guys a YouTube video and a style post. Yay, a two for one special! Let’s get into it:
I thought these cheerful photos, taken by D. Brown Photography, were the perfect greeting for summer. I’m so happy that the 90’s fashions are on trend. Listen, that was my time and I can now flourish properly (cuz I’m a grown-up and I have money). This overall style dress from ASOS and cute striped shirt set the town for our shoot in East Nashville.
I just shared that the 90’s were my favorite season of fashion, so I thought I’d share 25 Random Things About me on my YouTube channel! It was kinda hard to come up with 25 facts about myself, but the video came out really fun. So far, I’ve had a couple people surprised by my facts. In the video I shared that my favorite food is chocolate chip cookies and my that I love being the tallest woman in the room.
So, check out my newest video and if you haven’t subscribed, make sure to subscribe to my channel. I post new video every week! Of course I talk about fashion, but I vlog too. You can now experience a new leve of the Fabglance lifestyle – I’m just fun! LOL!
