Boutique of the Week: Flava Boutique – Lingerie and so much more! – Fab Glance

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, our Boutique of the Week is for the lovers. Flava Boutique, a little lingerie shop in Rivergate mall is sure to supply your Valentine’s Day needs for the weekend. I was invited to Flava Boutique last week for their Valentine’s Day preview. The shop is nestled in the previous Frederick’s of Hollywood site – but don’t think this is a knock-off. Flava Boutique is a one-of-a-kind place that is determined to satisfy each customer.

Owner, Mia Lynn, welcomes her customers with a smile and impeccable customer service, allowing shoppers to be comfortable about the lingerie and romantic gifts they purchase. A Los Angeles native, Mia came to Nashville and opened her boutique early last year. Since then, the store has picked up a steady stream of customers who count on Mia to help them spice up their bedroom. Mia continues to find her way and her target niche – risque private wear and romantic accessories.

Flava Boutique has not only sells lingerie, but the sell exotic novelties (massage oils, body butter, and candles), hosiery, and sexy footwear. Mia imports her lingerie from designers based in the Los Angeles area. By doing this, she makes sure that her apparel is exclusive. Mia is one of the only retailers of sexy Plus-Size lingerie in Nashville. She can order most items in sizes XL – 6XL, showing that all women can be sexy. In addition, Mia is adding a swimwear line to the store in the spring.

Here’s another special quality of Flava Boutique: Their couture corset selection. Flava Boutique partners with corset maker, David Bennett, to bring customers made-to-order corsets. I had the opportunity to talk with David about how he got into corset making. He told me that his wife was looking for a sexy, form-fitting corset, but the designs available were not up to her liking. So he decided to help her make one. After a couple of design concepts, he was able to construct a corset that his wife loved. After that, he decided to start selling his creations. David is definitely a jewel – being that he has never been to a sewing class. David is known for using leather, feathers, and lace to bring customer’s ideas to life.
