EVENT Review: Marchesa Trunk Show

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to view the Marchesa trunk show. This show was produced by Marissa Collections, a private style boutique in Naples, FL. Marissa Collections offers exclusive collections of designer pieces such as Valentino, Givenchy, and Marchesa. Marchesa will be the official designer for the Annual Symphony Spring Fashion Show on April 26, 2011. The trunk show gave shoppers a chance to view and purchase exclusive designs from Marchesa’s Resort 2011 collection.

The event was held at Spaces in Belle Meade. This was the first time I attended an event in this location and I was so impressed with the layout and design of the space which made shopping a pleasure. The collections was great! It was high on embellishments, draping, and tribal accents. The collection had evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and some casual pieces.

The Marissa Collections made sure to treat each customer like royalty as guests were offered champagne to drink while trying on clothes. Oh yeah, the ladies were offered a pair of Louboutins while trying on clothes. What a way to make sure you’d look great once you purchase your item.
In addition to the Marchesa, the October Trunk Show featured jewelry designs by Erickson Beamon. If you are not familiar with Erickson Beamon designs, take a look at Rihanna in the ‘Only Girl in the World’ video. Erickson Beamon created her jeweled headpiece.  All of the items were AMAZING. Heavily jewel encrusted statement necklaces, sparkly headpieces, and fancy bracelets were available for purchase. Some pieces were surprisingly affordable.

The event was fun and really got me in the mood for the Symphony Fashion Show in the spring. I can only imagine the excitement in the room as we see the clothes travel down the runway in real models. Symphony Spring Fashion Show is hosted by co-chairs Janet Bentz and Johnna Watson and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra League at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The show will feature the New York-based designers’ 2011 Fall Collection.
