On Saturday, June 4th, Nashville’s sneaker aficionados gathered for the first
Sneakers and Speakers (SxS)event held at PhatKaps clothing boutique. This event was epic! There were performances, sneaker sales, and plenty of networking and negotiating. The glory in this event was that a couple of young guys found a need and filled it. Ivan Andrews, the creator of Sneakers and Speakers, said he was tired of going out of town to sneaker conventions. Others agreed and partnered with him; within 3 months Sneakers and Speakers had a venue, logo, vendors, and participating artists. The Nashville fashion blogging community helped spread the word and the place was filled.
I had too much fun and the Fab Glance team is looking forward to the next Sneakers and Speakers event. It’s said that the SxS gang want to make this a quarterly event. I can see that happening. If you didn’t get a chance to attend take a look at the pictures below and plan to be in the place next time around.
