I’ve been watching the evolution of this line since late spring. Fashionistas were praising the clothing gods for this collaboration. The Versace line for H&M is gaining more popularity than the Missoni capsule line for Target. The ability to own a piece of Versace for less than $500? Amazing!
Yesterday, Donatella Versace launched the line to a packed house. More than 30 models, male and females, walked the geometric catwalk, displaying the new H&M line. Plenty of celebs were on hand to view the line too: Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, Prince, and Zoe Kravitz.
So what do I think of the line? Hmm, I’m in love with all the tropical colored and geometric graphic prints. The studded pieces seemed a bit gaudy and outdated to me. I can see some ladies taking these pieces and mixing them with simple elements like jeans, pleated skirts, and denim shorts. I don’t know if they will sell the Versace pieces online, but I’m sure the items (retailing for $80-$300) will be available in the early spring.
