Nashville Fashion Week 2012: The official kick-off party

It’s hard to believe that Nashville Fashion Week 2012 is almost here! This annual event is slated to be bigger and more magnificent than last year’s event. Mark you calanders for Marh 20-24, 2012 for Nashville Fashion Week!

This year I was invited to the official kickoff party held at the Hutton Hotel on West End avenue. The luxe locale greeted Nashville’s fashion elite with gourmet hors duerves and pretty hostesses sporting couture dresses made entirely out of newspaper by Fairlight Hubbard.

As the crowd grew large the conversation was all about what’s in store for this year’s fashion week. Could the the exciting and creative location of last year be trumped this year? What designer would show that is bigger than boy-wonder Christian Siriano? Well, the staff was ready to let us know the big deal.

The first announcement had guests cheering: Nashville Fashion Week tickets were going on sale immediately. Until Feb 7, you can buy All-Access passes for $250! After Feb 7, the All-Access passes return to their normal price, $350. An all-access pass get you the VIP treatment: Swag Bag, Premium Seating, and pre/after party passes. Next up, the venues – where would Nashville Fashion Week take place? Last year there was a penthouse venue, a downtown venue, and a historic venue. This year, fashion week attendees will take a tour of Nashville, visiting some unique spaces. The venues revealed bought ooh’s and aah’s from the guests: The Parthenon, the Pinnacle Building, and The Marathon Music Works Building. One can only imagine what the set designs will look like and how will the models maneuver the twists and turns of a creatively styled runway?

Lastly, everyone want to know what big fashion names will grace Music City with their sartorial precense. Although all the designers haven’t been selected, the NFW team was proud to announce that celeb designer, Randi Rahm will show on the final night. Randi Rahm may not be a household name but celebrities like Beyonce (dress shown above) and Carrie Underwood (dress shown below). Rahm is making a special showing because she rarely does runway shows – Nashville is special!
