#Spring2013 NYFW: Tracey Reese, Cushnie Et Ochs, Zac Posen, and Alexander Wang

Like I said before, the Spring 2013 shows really made me a believer! You know I’m hardcore Fall fan, but these designers are making me look forward to bright prints and light weight leather for spring 2013. Let’s get into some of my favorite lines.

Check out my first set of faves here: Herve Leger, Jason Wu, Christian Siriano, and Monique Lhullier

Tracy Reese, Spring 2013

Tracy Reese is the bell of the ball since First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore one of her designs at the Democratic National Convention. Reese, is not new to the fashion game, but with new found attention, new fans are bound to come of the corners. So, she presented us with a mish-mash of cool over-sized and cropped boxy jackets, bright colored pants, and neutral colored separates. I like the collection, each piece looks like it can be styled separately and look good.

Cushnie Et Ochs

Next up, is one of my favorite new discoveries, Cushnie Et Ochs. Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs launched their brand in 2009, and has garnered praise. The duo believes in expert tailoring and intricate draping as you can see in the models above. They hit the trend with sheer embellishments and the pastel colors. I’m loving it.

Zac Posen Spring 2013

Zac Posen really lit up runway with this old-school inspired line. He even gave us a throwback when he opened the show with supermodel Naomi Campbell! The dresses gave me 40’s influences and the gowns were certainly red-carpet ready. Posen really hit the mark with this.

Alexander Wang, Spring 2013

I had to save the best for last – ALEXANDER WANG! If you know anything about fashion, you know all the chic city girls love Alexander Wang. His lovely cut-out designs made audience members gasp in delight. However, no one was ready for the Glow-in-the-dark fantasy that Wang gave us. His designs weren’t just a flash in the fun pan, but a real nod to easy sportswear that that will be layered during those early spring months.
