I don’t know how I didn’t see this collection last year, but these designs are so appropriate for right now! Resort collection used to be defined as collections sold between Thanksgiving and New Year’s as affluent people usually vacation in warm weather climates during/after the holiday season. Now resort collections are looked as as ‘year round’ collections because people vacation all the time. Access to warm weather destinations are readily available to most people. So resort collections can be big business for designers who market the brand correctly.

So, last year Balmain, now ran by Olivier Rousteing presented this resort collection that is heavily influenced by South Beach Miami architecture and said to embody ‘fun, happiness, and hope’. Balmain has the sexy appeal, but this collection gives the wearer a trendy softness that is necessary for going on holiday. All I’m saying is – I love it, and I want it all!
