Janelle Monae and Robin Thicke cover the #NEWRULES of R&B portion |
Oh my gosh! VIBE Magazine is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary! I feel old! I remember receiveing the first issue! Yes, I’m an old head in this hip-hop game. But even as a teen, I knew Vibe was something special.
This full-sized glossy magazine gave a spotlight to rap, hip-hop, and R&B in a way that other magazines (at the time) didn’t. Spearheaded by Quincy Jones, Vibe magazine became the voice of a generation and gave a voice to celebrities that mainstream media often overlooked.
