CELEB STYLE: FAB looks from Black Girls Rock 2013

The Black Girls Rock Performances were BEYOND amazing

Last night, BET aired the annual Black Girls Rock Awards. Founded by BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit, youth empowerment mentoring organization established as a reaction to the often seen negative images consistently imprinted upon Black women expressly in mass media (source).

Every year, the Black Girls Rock organization selects several successful community leaders, celebrities, and youth to spotlight on the national show. CLICK here to hear the award winning acceptance speeches.

Hosted by Tracee Ellis-Ross and Regina King the show gets better each year and this year was no different.. The performances, the award winners, and the sentiment continues to help black women feel empowered, important, and unstoppable.  With performance by Janelle Monae, newcomer Alice Smith, Amber Riley, Kelly Rowland, and Patti Labelle, each moment was almost better than the next.

But, you know we are here to talk about the FASHION! Below are some of my favorite looks that walked the Black Girls Rock pink carpet!

Black Girls Rock! founder, Beverly Bond looked ultra-glam on the pink carpet. I’m loving these soft curls!

Amber Riley rocked this floral print bodycon dress and strappy heels. The hair – AHMAZING!

Keke Palmer rocked this sophisticated sexy ball gown with fab back detail. Sweet understated glamour.

Newcomer and my new fave, singer, Alice Smith dazzled in an all white body con dress and strappy sandals. Quite Chic!

Can Queen Latifah be ANY more gorgeous? This sequined sillohette sheath looked great on stage and on the pink carpet.

Nia Long has secret anti-aging pills that keep her looking FLY! The 43 year old new mom kept in simple and sexy with this all black ensemble.

Kelly Rowland went with an all black theme too. These daring but fly see-through trousers and embellished blouse are a creative take on red carpet flair.

Tatyana Ali looked elegant in this white gown with oragami detail and cut-out. LOVES IT!

Hope you enjoyed the show. If you didn’t get a chance to watch, check BET’s schedule, I’m sure it will re-air this week.
