As you know I’m a graduate of Tennessee State University and this week we celebrated our homecoming. Our school is a Historically Black College/University (HBCU) – which means it was found as a institution to educate black Americans during the time of segregation. Traditionally, these schools tend to be majority African-American so the culture, flow, and fun is our way! We have fun! HBCU’s have a glowing tradition of parties, pageantry, pride, and of course football!
Below are a few photos of how I celebrated TSU’s 102nd Homecoming celebration.
On Thursday I attended to Kanye West Tribute show presented by SpreadLuv and Lovenoise.
I’ve loved these tribute shows. They utilize local artists to showcase the music of our biggest hit makers. And if you love Kanye West, you should have been there. It was the best beginning to Homecoming Weekend!

The crowd was AMAZING! |

The Mick Hicks band rocked through 15 of Kanye’s greatest hits |
Friday was time to visit my old stomping – the campus. Fridays are for reconnecting with friends and hearing your old band. Luckily, we have the baddest band in the land and they were there to perform.

Cooling it on campus! These halls bring back memories |

WHOA! So many people!! But the weather was AMAZING! |

Friday night was party night – and I attended the lavish rooftop part, “Elvate”, at the Hard Rock Cafe. The crowd was AMAZING and the DJ, Dolewite, was rocking. It’s nice to go out and not have that traditional club experience. I didn’t feel all skeevy with creeper guys trying to run on your booty. It was a classy affair. Packed, but classy.

Totally in love with my makeup on Friday night! Def gotta tell ya about my makeup pickups for fall. |

Mistakes in the photo roll – but FAB nonetheless. |

Hanging with some of my college friends. |
Saturday was game day! We played our HBCU rivals, Florida A & M University. The game SOLD out and the fan were tailgating to celebrate our impending win – because I knew we would win. TSU trampled FAMU 27 – 7! Oh yeah! And victory was in the air!

More friends, more celebrating |

Ended the night with s’mores – awesome! |
Now, I’m recuperating from late nights and loud music. However, I had a BLAST! How was your homecoming experience?
