MY STYLE: Simple Sundress, simple pleasures

Guys, I’m having vacation withdrawl! I took two trips, back-to-back, Chicago (story coming soon) and New York (for Curvy Con). I was jet-setting, I was eating delicious food, and I was meeting amazing people. Now, I’m back to reality and back to the grind. I had to look in my closet to find a bit of happiness. I came upon one of my favorite simple sundresses. I thought I’d given it away, but nope, there it was waiting to make me happy!

Dress – Target (purchase similar), Bag – Forever 21, Shoes – Adidas
Anyone who knows me, knows I affectionately call this my Rudy Huxtable dress. Remember that episode of The Cosby Show when Rudy wanted to wear that sundress to the party, but it was too cold to wear a sundress (click here to watch a snippet). When I first bought this dress, about six years ago, I wanted to wear it all the time. I purchased this dress from Target, in the straight-sized section.
This goes to show, as a plus-size shopper, you need to take advantage of the whole store. Sometimes you come up on a dress that is cut just right. Sometimes, the size doesn’t matter. Try it on, it may fit. When things like this happen, it makes me super happy. And, the fact that it STILL fits (LISTEN), thank God for good genes!

I love this dress because you can add various pops of color and different accessories to make it fly for any occasion. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn this dress in the past six year – it’s alot. I’ve worn it to weddings, church, work, on a date, and even to travel. It’s just an easy fit & flare style that looks good all the time. That’s what makes a classic piece!

So, when you are feeling down, pull out your favorite dress. It doesn’t have to be any special occasion, YOU are the special occasion! Wear your favorite item around the house or out on the town, I gurantee you’ll feel alot better!

What’s your favorite piece of clothing?
