Oh yeah! It’s time for another edition of HATE IT/LOVE IT (HILI) – For my new readers, HILI takes a look at the top trends, and asks the real people, “Would you rock this?”

This week’s HILI is the caped look, you know, the Sherlock Holmes look. Since 2005, celebs have been rocking capes, as you can see in the pic above. This came from the notorious PONCHO trend of 2002-2004. Designers started taking elements of trench coats and pea coats and designing the cape look. You can find a cape made by most designers. However, it takes a young lady with a certain kind of charisma to rock the look correctly. Personally, I like the cape. I haven’t found one that was original enough to get my money, but when I do, watch out! I will surely rock mine with a pencil skirt, woolen tights, stack-heeled loafers, and a beret.

You can find the cape, below left, at your local Jones New York store (159.00). Capes have also been spotted at Macy’s and Dillard’s.
