So last, week I was looking at pictures for my Celeb Style Round-up. I came across this cute picture of AnnaLynne McCord from the new 90210 and I was enthralled to write a post about Fall’s confusing yet o-so-fab trend, wearing denim shorts. You know I had to run to my Looklet account to help you, my fab readers, get the jump on wearing denim shorts in the fall.
Here’s the deal, whenever a trend such as denim shorts, does well in the previous season, you will see that trend float into the next season. Lucky for us denim shorts are super transitional, and can fit a variety of body types depending on fir and length.
Check out the look above. I dress the model in tailored, dark rinse vintage shorts, opaque tights, suede boots, and a fun over sized cardigan. I figured an over sized t-shirt would look cute so if you get too hot for the cardi, you can take it off and still look fab. Pull on some jewelry, tousle you hair, and boom, you are ready to go. Oh yeah, don’t forget to add a bit of animal print – like the Dolce Gabbana tote.
This look is one I styled last spring. Basically denim shorts are a great way to transition. This longer length, with distressed details looks a little less threatening when you add smart accessories. Oxford flats, a boxy jacket, and knee socks look too cute on a warm fall day. Definitely a look for the younger set.
Lastly, the super fashionista, shown above, isn’t afraid to show a little leg in the library. You know the rule, if you expose one area of the body, the other has to be covered for balance. I am so loving the clog inspired knee boots with slouchy socks it’s such a cozy looking combo. Then the preppy Tommy Hilfiger jacket and blouse add that extra fashion factor. Very fab.
So there ya have it, three ways to rock denim shorts as the months get cooler. You’ll look trendy without looking confused. Love it!
