This spring/summer I don’t want to hear anyone say, “There’s nothing to do in Nashville.” In the past eight weeks I’ve had more event press releases come through my inbox than ever before. Concerts, fashion events, and festivals are on the way and making Nashville a fun place to be. Tomorrow, April 13, the BET Music Matters Tour will hit the Limelight stage. Sponsored by our fab friends Lovenoise, the tour features 3 Grammy nominated singer/songwriters: Marsha Ambrosius, Melanie Fiona, and Anthony David.
I’m excited to see these artists perform in Nashville. Each has carved a niche in the music world. Some would place these artists in the Neo-Soul category, but I like to call it good music! Melanie is a model for Rocawear as well as a singer. She’s collaborated with Cee-lo, The Roots, and John Legend and has a new album arriving in July 2011 (The MF Life). Marsha Ambrosius, best known as the other half of the group Floetry, has worked with Michael Jackson (Butterflies), Alicia Keys, and Dr. Dre. Now on her own, she has a critically acclaimed album, Late Nights & Early Mornings. Anthony David, whom I just saw perform at Jazz & Jokes, has a Grammy nomination for his work with India Arie as well as new album, Above, So Below.
There will be a live band at this seated concert event. Tickets are still available online and at several locations in Nashville (Haddox Pharmacy and PhatKaps boutique)
