You gotta admit, there’s a crazy facination with Aaliyah these days. The fallen R&B singer was killed in a plane crash on August 25, 2001. I have to admit, she was on the cusp of turning into a well-rounded actress, singer, and brand ambassodor. A friend of mine reminded me that Timbaland and Missy created a sound for Aaliyah that was unlike any sound during her day. It’s crazy that she’s been gone for more than 10 years.

Well, on the heels of Drake announcing that he will release an Aaliyah tribute album (source) and Fall 2012 being all about flashbacks to the 1990’s, Sessillee Lopez gives us Aaliyah REALNESS in her current spread for The Block Magazine. The Block asked stylist ANDREAS KOKKINO to resurrect Baby Girl’s style with the F/W12 collection. The super-model channels some of Aaliyah’s signature style for this 1994 meets 2012 editorial.
