My Life: Hosting Art Institute’s CURATED fashion show!

Last week I had the honor of co-hosting the Art Institute of Tennessee’s first fashion show, Curated. I was so excited to host this wonderful event, because I know how hard the students at Art Institute have worked to make this happen. It’s been two years in the making and they did not dissapoint! Let’s get into it!

The event went down at 429 Event Space near downtown Nashville. This beautiful space has clean lines and plenty of room to create an amazing event. It was virtually perfect to host a fashion show. Everyone who walked in were wowed by the look of it. In the front, the show was held. In the back, there was an intimate shopping experience complete with a live singer.

Van Hoang

Presenting fashions that night were Ona Rex, Van Hoang, People Like Art, and Brittany Bennett. The presentation were a mix of fall/winter and resort wear. Living in Nashville, where spring, summer, and fall, are more prominent than the cold days of winter, I could see purchasing these items and getting plenty wear out of them.

People Like Art

Of course, I have to shout out the wonderful graduating Seniors at Art Institute! The Fashion marketing program put on a excellent show. The crew was mentored by Connie Richardson of Nashville Fashion Week. The show was free, but all donations were given to the Nashville Fashion Forward fund. I love that the Nashville Fashion Week worked with the school. It’s important to know that fashion can come from various avenues. As we embrace this, it helps to build a bigger outlook on the amazing fashion coming out of Nashville.

The hostess for the shopping event, ME
After the fashion went down the runway, we had an amazing shopping event. Yes, you could purchase many of the looks and accessories that just walked the runway. What an amazing idea! Hosting shopping events makes unique fashion so much more accessible.

Of course, if I was the host, I had to wear something amazing! I stepped away from my usual fit & flare cocktail dresses and went with something a bit more fashion forward. This caped dress I rented from Rent the Runway is an Adrianna Pappell. I absolutely LOVE this dress and I’m so happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone to wear it. I got so many compliments. It felt real nice to dress up on a school night!

Once again, I was so honored to co-host this wonderful event. I can’t wait to see what the new class will offer next year!
