MY STYLE: Prim & Proper at the Nashville Fashion Week Kickoff

My love for preppy and classic will always outweigh my love for trying a new trend (even though I’ll do it for you, my readers!). That’s why I was more than happy to wear this look to the Nashville Fashion Week kickoff party.

The event, held at 5th & Taylor restaurant in the Germantown area, was the perfect spot to wear this classic look. I was coming straight from work but had to look stylish and hip.
I pulled this classic blue buttoned shirt from my closet; scored it from the Goodwill men’s department. I then added this cute statement necklace from Charlotte Russe for fashion appeal. Nothing like a little bling to enhance your situation.

I also wanted to tell you about the maxing jacket selections from Torrid. If you are plussize and busty or have chunkier arms (like me) their jackets are ones to try. Most of the time plussize jackets don’t fit me well. But, the amazing thing about Torrid’s jackets are the elastic details under the arm which allow the jackets to stretch and fit much better. Definitely a good deal.
As always, the Nashville Fashion Week party was top-notch. Mark your calendars, Nashville Fashion Week will be. April 5th-9th, 2016. At the kick-off, we learned more about the Nashville Fashion Forward fund, how YOU can get involved, and had some tasty treats. Of course I’ll keep you posted on all NFW announcements. I’m sure year six will be better than ever.
