MY STYLE: Bold Business Casual

Contrary to popular belief I do this whole blog thing while having a whole grown-up full-time job. Like my title at my day job is MAD important. It’s like I have a double life. I can tell you this, my day job has nothing to do with fashion and no one at my office cares if I look fashionable. All the outfits I share online, fall on blind eyes at my office. But that doesn’t stop me from looking cute. And it shouldn’t stop you.

My day job is pretty casual. The only thing our policy states is that we can’t wear jeans. So, that give me alot of room to explore business casual looks. As you know, I’m a fan of leggings. I know some people are apart of the ‘leggings aren’t pants’ tribe, but that ain’t me. Leggings can be worn as pants as long as the material isn’t see through and your top covers you nether regions. Basically, don’t be looking like you getting ready to go to the club . . . unless you getting ready to go to the club.

My favorite leggings are the premium leggings from Torrid. No only are they thick enough not to be see-through, but the high waistband contours your body so that you don’t really have to wear shape-wear. Loves IT! I wear these pants to work all the time, and no one bats an eye. Pairing the leggings with a cute work shirt and bold jewelry gives me a professional yet comfortable look. Also, stick with basic black – you can get away with wearing black leggings as pants, but once you start wearing colors and bold patterns, it gets a bit skeptical.

So, give this bold business casual look a try. Rocking a longer shirt, leggings, and bold jewelry can get your through a host of emergency meetings and manic Mondays.

Have you figured out a way to rock leggings to work? Let me know in the comments section.
