I shared my HBCU Homecoming outfit inspiration. But, I have to share my personal style with you. Listen, plus-size ladies love to ‘turn up’ too and we have the outfits to prove it! Of course, since I’m celebrating an HBCU Homecoming, the emphasis on FASHION is a big deal. Historically, black people have been the purveyors of style for the culture. Attending college is no different. We strive to be excellent in education and style. So when we return to celebrate being an Alumni, you know we are bringing our ‘A’ game.
Below, I share some of the looks you might see me rocking this weekend. Let’s get started:
I’m a fan of supporting my school. Every year I try to donate a bit of money and purchase a new college tee. This year I wanted to keep it chill, I purchased this black shirt with my university’s name, then put it with this cute pencil skirt and old-school adidas. I’ve owned this skirt FOREVER, got it a torrid, and I wear it often. I knew this look would be cute and casual especially when I wore my shirt as a crop top! I’m rocking this to the Pep Rally or the Tailgate – either way, I’ll be fly and comfy.
After the Pep Rally, it’s officially party-time. I’ll probably go to a Day Party because day parties, during Homecoming Weekend are the place to be seen. For a day party I like to keep the casual vibe with a bit of sass. This Rebdolls bodycon midi dress is the perfect choice. Rebdolls is one if my favorite online store. Adding a couple of casual details to the mix makes this look perfect for Day Party shenanigans.
My last look is for the club. Every girl needs a Little Black Dress. This dress from Forever 21 was affordable find that I wear often. I love the lace inset which gives this dress a wonderfully feminine flair but the length is all about the flirt.
So, I hope you enjoy your HBCU Homecoming weekend! Let me know what you’ll be doing while you celebrate homecoming. Stay safe, don’t drink and drive, and make sure you don’t kiss someone’s boyfriend! LOL!
