Name and Age

Tiffany, 29

What do you do, why do you do it?

I do plus-sized modeling along with blogging. I feel like I was born to be a model. I have always been a natural poser as a child and as I got older and more invested in the modeling industry. I noticed it was something I was passionate about. I am also very passionate about writing. I write everyday! The blog posts I make are only a small percentage of my writings.

When you were asked to do a bathing suit shoot, what was your first reaction?

My first reaction was pure joy! I love my body so much and I couldn’t wait to inspire other curvy queens with the confidence that I display in my photos.

What made you embrace your curves?

I started embracing my curves when I realized you can be curvy and still be active. Being curvy is not a prison sentence – it’s literally a body structure (and a beautiful one at that). My curves didn’t stop me from any opportunities in life. So, I finally said it is what it is around age 21.

When did you say, “I’m ok with me?”

I said “I’m ok with me” at age 21 when I did a plus size beauty pageant. I received so much positive feedback! I felt like I  knew this was going to be my life as a curvy woman and I welcomed it with open arms. I had no idea there was a whole community that catered to women with my body type.

Have you had to deal with mean or backhanded comments from family, friends, and/or strangers? What did you do?

I have always had to deal with mean comments to this very day as we all do. We live in a society where it’s trendy to bully a person for attention and likes so you just have to hope and pray that today it isn’t you. When people treat me like that I just go harder at my craft and consume my self with creativity that way the negativity is overruled. You’re never going to get rid of bullies but you can drown them out and focus on something more positive and divine.

What’s your favorite part of your body? Why?

My favorite part of my body is my eyes! I just love the shade of brown that they are Sometimes,  I’ll go look in the mirror and think wow my eyes are really pretty! Sometimes people ask me if I’m wearing contacts and I always think “wow they must be gleaming today.”

Tell us about one item in your closet you’ll never let go of?

I’ll never let go of my long sleeve mini leopard dress – it is a true show stopper. I love anything animal print! but the way this particular dress hugs my body, it’s literally irreplaceable and I feel absolutely sexy in it. Definitely hanging on to that little number for a while.

What’s your favorite store to shop at and why? (local, online, vintage/thrift, etc)

My favorite store to shop at would have to be Styles Boutique here in Nashville. I love the uniqueness of boutique clothing and you don’t have to wait for it to ship. It’s plus size fashion right at your fingertips.

What plus-size store would you like to see in Nashville?

A plus-size store I’d like to see here in Nashville is Fashion Nova curve.

What would you tell your YOUNGER curvy self?

I would tell my younger curvy self to trust the process. Things change, people change, your body changes but God has a special path for your life to lead you to all the desires of your heart. Focus on God and watch how miracles will begin to happen for you.
