Ebony celebrates 65 years with iconic recreations of past covers

Wow! Ebony Magazine has been around for 65 years! That’s a fabulous accomplishment considering the state of of the magazine world these days. Ebony Magazine was a staple in the black homes and businesses for many years and the magazine continues to thrive.
To celebrate their 65th anniversary, the editors at Ebony decided to recreate some of their most fantastic covers by using some of iconic celebs. As a wardrobe stylist, I as blown away by these pictures. The editors chose the celebs who embodied the original star’s charisma and attitude. The stars used were Taraji P. Henson as Diahann Carroll, Mary J Blige as Diana Ross, Usher as Sammie Davis Jr., Samuel L. Jackson as Marin Luther King, and other artists such as John Legend and Lamann Rucker.
