Rihanna stays winning – like for real. She just finished a world tour where most of the dates were sold out. She created a successful clothing collab with River Island. Then she even had a fashion-based reality show, Styled to ROCK. In addition, she’s the NEW face of Balmain. It’s no wonder that Vogue asked her to be on the cover. Love her or hate her, the girl does have an effect on fashion, especially street-style. Oh yeah, she’s freakin’ gorgeous!
Check out her spread in the March 2014 issue of Vogue. The story, The Rihanna Effect:
The Rihanna Effect was all over the spring collections. Peter Dundas for Pucci showed leather boxer shorts worn with jeweled jackets, and adorned his red-carpet frocks with beaded black harnesses. Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, who has Rihanna starring in his spring ad campaign, showed what amounted to an entire Rihanna wardrobe on his runway: baseball jackets worn with sheer tops and skinny houndstooth pants; eighties-inspired denim minidresses cinched at the waist. Tom Ford’s bejeweled teeny-tiny dresses and thigh-high gladiator sandals said Rihanna loud and clear. (source)
Below, see Rihanna styled in some of the designs that she helped influence. She ROCKED this shoot. I think this is her best spread for Vogue US.
