Today’s look is an experiment in textures and layering. I’ve never been one to like winter coats. Sometimes they are too big and bulky making me feel too hot – instead of feeling warm and toasty. So, HOLA LAYERS!
Sometime last year, my friend & designer Charles Lord gifted this sleeveless jacket to me. It’s always fun to have a friend who designs, they tend to think of you when going through a creative explosion. This sleeveless jacket was nothing like I had in my closet. At first, I didn’t know what to do then I came up with this look.
Using my staple winter look of a black turtleneck and black leggings, I added the warm wool-blend coat to the looks with this industrial inspired belt. Ooh, this looks kinda nice! I felt quite chic and I was SUPER warm without having wear a big bulky coat.
This look is a testament to trying new shapes and new techniques to create a silhouette that works for you. Give it a try.
