Man! Last week was so fun! I tried to post all my shenanigans and fashionable fly-ness on my social media platforms. So, I hope you enjoyed it. Make sure to review my fab looks on the site and on my instagram. So, with all this Nashville Fashion Week movement, I almost forgot to tell you about my campaign with Opry Mills! Yes, honey, they asked the chunky black girl to do an ad for Opry Mills! Let’s get into it . .
A couple of weeks ago I received an email asking me if I wanted to be apart of a ‘Dress for Less’ campaign for Opry Mills Mall (A Simon Mall). Nashville Fashion Week and Opry Mills mall wanted to show people that you could SHOP LOCAL to find a fly look for the week. The team selected four Nashville bloggers to spotlight different looks for the week. Of course, I said yes!
Each blogger was given a specific store; I was given Saks Off 5th. At first, I was like, “Saks don’t have much of a Plus-Size section. What will I choose?” Mind you, I’m a smooth size 24, which is considered an extended plus size! But, lo and behold, I walked into Saks and saw a nice but small area for the plus-size shopper. The area was still SMALL considered how large the Saks Off 5th store is. But, they have some cute pieces.
I selected this Lauren By Ralph Lauren graphic print peplum dress and I love it SO MUCH! Ladies, don’t ever be afraid to (at least) try on something different. I was gonna go with a tried & true wrap dress, but why not try a different shape. And, it worked! This dress was originally $160 dollars, but was sold for $55! Right? I know!
Also, as I ALWAYS say, you can shop for SOMETHING in ANY store; doesn’t matter your size. So when it came to the accessories part of the shoot, I was more than ready! This mini bucket bag was the CUTEST thing ever. It’s the Blue Bucket Bag by KC Jagger (Orig $160, Opry Mills price $49.99) Like, guys, get a baby bucket bag! Get you one!
So, thanks to Nashville Fashion Week and Opry Mills mall for inviting me to be apart of this campaign. I’m so happy that my body type could be represented for your shoppers. Ladies, don’t be afraid to shop at you local mall. It may take a bit of extra walking to find you section, but I guarantee you’ll be surprised when you get there.
