We are so excited that everyone is enjoying Nashville Curves Week! Thanks for all the views on Facebook and likes on Instagram. I am so excited about sharing these women’s stories on the site. Today, we meet Nica! How did I meet Nica? She was the only girl taller than me at Nashville Fashion Week! This fellow stylist and executive assistant works hard to make others look good. Read her story below:
Name and Age: Nica Woodard, 28
What do you do, why do you do it?
I am a personal stylist and co-founder of an image developing company called Image Collective Enterprise. I do it because I love to help individual’s outer appearance beam their inner appearance.

What made you embrace your curves?
I was tired of hating myself. I got fed up of looking in the mirror and hating what I see.
When did you say, “I’m ok with me?”
There was not a significant event, I just looked in the mirror one day and realized I looked GOOD and I was happy with it. learned how to dress my size and kept it moving.
Have you had to deal with mean or backhanded comments from family, friends, and/or strangers? What did you do?
Most definitely! The infamous line from a family member “OOH girl you been eating good!” I just laughed about it and kept going. I believe my friends are to afraid to say anything, or just do not really care. I do not let peoples comments affect how I am feeling about myself.

When you were asked to do a bathing suit shoot, what was your first reaction?
I was so excited! One because I was being asked to be a part of an amazing movement in Nashville. The other thought was, “where in the world am I going to get a bathing suit?” My body in the suit was not an issue for me.
What’s your favorite part of your body? Why?
My legs. Since I am 6’3, it doesn’t matter what your legs look like, if they’re long, you can make anything look good!
Tell us about one item in your closet you’ll never let go of?
My denim button down shirt. I cannot part with that thing. I can literally dress up or dress down any outfit with it. I am waiting on the day it gets a hole. That will be a sad day.

What’s your favorite store to shop at and why? (local, online, vintage/thrift, etc)
I would have to say Eloquii. Their selections are my exact style and the fit and options available for curvy women are amazing.
What plus-size store would you like to see in Nashville?
Of course Eloquii or an ASOS!
What would you tell your YOUNGER curvy self?
DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER WOMEN! You are going to grow up to be a confident, bad***, entrepreneur, who will find her place and no one can take that from you.
