A couple of weeks ago I was asked to model wedding gowns for local wedding retailer, Eleven Bridal. The bridal boutique was partnering with event planning organization Happily Connected. Happily Connected created this amazing bridal show experience where couples were introduced to boutique vendors ready to make their wedding wishes come true.

Eleven Bridal is Tennessee’s EXCLUSIVE PLUS-SIZE bridal boutique! When I went in for my fitting, I was so excited to walk into a space that catered exclusively to the plus-size body. It wild that plus-size women get engaged daily, but the bridal industry is slow to cater to our demographic. We want to try on dresses too! And we want to try them on without feeling like outcasts in your skinny wedding fantasies.

Ok, let me get back to this intimate and amazing wedding show produced by Happily Connected. The event took place at the Bavarian Bierhaus in Opry Mills Mall. You’d never think a traditional German restuarant can be transformed into an amazing wedding space. But the space was beautifully draped by TN Event Design. The rustic yet modern set up made visitors feel like they were stepping into an actual wedding ceremony.

Guests were given an awesome bridal experience complete with cake, sweets, a cool DJ, and samples of lovely tablescapes. On top of that, there were five brides wearing gorgeous gowns, that allowed for guests to imagine themselves on their big day.

So, each bride represented a different bridal theme  –  I was the MODERN BRIDE! Listen, when Teneka, owner of Eleven Bridal, dressed me so impeccably! I’m no where near fussy person, especially when it comes to clothing. So when I was presented with this amazing dress that has POCKETS, you know I was in love.

Actually, as a tru size 26, my dress was actually a bit big. If this was my real wedding day, I’d have to get this marvelous dress altered. Plus-Size brides, REJOICE!
