Update your workspace with Old Time Pottery!

In March, I was informed that I’d be working from home for the rest of 2020. I never thought I’d have to create a home office in my current space. I enjoyed the liberty of going to my office at work and enjoying the comforts of home. Occasionally, I’d do blog work at home but those days were most successful in a local coffee shop

The worldwide pandemic had shifted our employment and our lives in ways we could never imagine. I would spend almost 10 hours sitting in the same space with no distinction between work and the comfort of home. In addition, I couldn’t pop out to my fave coffee shop. I found myself getting listless and not very productive. I quickly hustled to create a ‘workspace’

BEFORE – My makeshift workspace

Thank you to the team at Old Time Pottery for helping me spruce up my jumbled space. Previously I’d purchased a new desk, bookshelf, and rug, but the space didn’t feel like me. It felt messy and unorganized. I wanted to add some flair and inspiration. My gift certificate from Old Time Pottery came right on time!

Visiting the Old Time Pottery store in Madison, TN was a great experience. The staff was helpful and properly wearing masks. There were sanitation stations for carts and clearly marked reminders for customers to stay 6 feet apart.

At first I was slightly overwhelmed with ALL the choices in all the departments. But as I took my time going through the aisles I started to see what I needed to make my space look it’s best.

Old Time Pottery has items to fir any style of decorating. I’m more modern with bits of Whismy. When I found ‘Rodney’ (a ceramic robot tucked away in the home decor section) I knew exactly what I wanted. I picked up a 16” x 20” frame for a piece of art I’d purchased earlier in the year. Then I saw another framed poster that said ‘Work Hard’ that I knew needed to come home. Lastly, I went to the lighting section for a proper desk lamp. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sleek modern lamp with a trendy marble base.

When I got home I was excited to add my new pieces. I vacuumed, reorganized my bookshelf, put my art in my new frame, a cleared off my desk for Rodney and my new lamp. There’s nothing like adding a couple of pieces to breathe new life into your home (all for less than $100).

AFTER – A new lamp, desk art, and new framed art

Once again, thank you to Old Time Pottery for sponsoring my new work from home space. Just adding a couple new pieces really helped me feel better about working from home for the rest of 2020.
