MY CITY: Visit the Chaos and Awe Exhibit at Frist Museum

It’s safe to say that the Frist Museum is one of my favorite places in Nashville. So, when the team invited to get a preview of the new Chaos and Awe Exhibit I was more than hype to take a visit!

Chaos and Awe: Painting for the 21st Century

Located in the Ingram Gallery, downstairs, the Chaos and Awe Exhibit is open to the public from now until September 16th, 2018. From the museum’s website, the Exhibit is described as,

“… a sweeping survey of contemporary art from around the world, celebrates paint’s capacity to weave together images of physical reality, memories, emotions, and the virtual world”

Y’all, you gonna feel all the emotions and take all the selfies in front of these amazing and thought provoking selections.

As soon as you enter the gallery you are whisked away into this futuristic presentations of eye-popping color and amazing stories. Each piece is presented to entice the viewer’s thoughts about the world around them. There are traditional and multimedia works that will Be conversation starters for you and your guests.

The piece above is in a collection about the African-American experience. This modern demonstration represents the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the erasure of Black bodies from our headlines. I’m telling you, it’s some thought provoking work.

Seriously, I didn’t even take as many photos as I wanted to take because I was in Awe. This is a modern art exhibit that is just as gorgeous to look at as it is a transformative experience. Make sure you visit the Chaos and Awe Exhibit, and bring some friends! You’ll be sure to enjoy!
