I did it! I made it! I finished my 40 Day Detox and I’m proud of myself! Back in June, I had doubts that I could finish this challenge, but I had more hope that I wanted to change my life and my eating habits. Today, I’m proud to say I lost 27lbs in 40 days!

It happens to every blogger who’s been putting in that good work. You photos are great, you’ve been posting on your site consistently, and your social media following is rising organically. Then, you get an email from the brand that you’ve been stalking! Yes! If you remember from my ‘Blogging While Broke‘ post, most bloggers barely make enough to pay for daily cup of coffee. So, when a brand reaches out to you, ANY BRAND, you get hype!
But then, they send you that . . . questionnaire. You start answering the question and they ask about your NUMBERS:
- How many Instagram followers do you have?
- How many Facebook followers do you have?
- How many unique visits does your website receive?

Welcome back! It’s Detox Review time!
First up, thank you for following me on this journey! I’ve gained so many new readers and fans in the blog, my instagram, and my Facebook page. Also, I appreciate when you email and send me messages about starting your own detoxes! If I encourage just ONE person to be a bit healthier, then I’ve done my job. After all, it was one person who inspired me to start again too.
How’s the detox going?
I know this title is a bit awkward but I’ve been thinking about it for a long time. This is, like, my 12th year blogging. I’ve had some HUGE successes and I’ve had plenty valleys. I’ve always called myself a fashion blogger, but I’ve often been asked why don’t I concentrate my efforts on being a PLUS- SIZE BLOGGER. And, that always gets me to thinking about the importance or non-importance of niche blogging.
I started a 40 Day Detox and I’m here to give you some tips, recipes, and keep it real with how detoxing makes you feel. Make sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with my daily recipes and musings about being on this detox. It’s not easy, but the outcome is definitely fulfilling. This week’s motivation post is coming a bit late in the week, but after a recent visit with my therapist (yeah girl, I got a therapist. She’s bomb!), I had to process what she told me. If you know me in real life, you know I’m not really emotional. Well, I’m not outwardly emotional. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have emotions. Oh, I have plenty. But, as I work with my therapist, I’m learning that it’s OK to let some of them show. Why?
Sometime’s these #motivationmonday posts I read can make you feel guility, as if you aren’t doing ENOUGH! It’s all ‘GO GIRL’, #GirlBoss, and ‘work while your haters sleep’ or something of the sort. BUT, sometimes you need to take break!
